Hey folks,
here is a bunch of sketches, which have three purposes:
1. Find a workflow to set the main information that I need for the painting, (i.e. composition, values, etc.) in half an hour.
2. Another main focus was the color, again. I tried some more color combinations.
3. Make me more familiar with the sci-fi genre. Since I never really draw something in that direction, I realized that it's hard for me to think about scenes etc. and to come up with good ideas.
Every image took an hour and they really helped me:
Also, I decided to make some characters, so here a WIP of the first one:

Test
In my first blogpost I will post a sketch, something I do every day for an hour or so, most of these take not longer than 3 hours in total.
Most of the time I do sketches to work on my problems, so often they are very rough, but this is not important to me. Besides that, the less you hammer out a painting the more energy it has.
So in this one I was concentrating on colors.
Sometimes I don´t know exactly what to paint, and when you just start looking for an happy accident there is a big danger that you get repetitive. To prevent that I always try to have a vague idea of what I am going to paint. For this one I tried something new and read a description from a movie that I never saw - it was a lot of fun and you should give it a shot.
